The 1979 Major League Baseball All Star Game, played in the Seattle Kingdome, was certainly a memorable contest. It featured in epic matchup of starting pitchers, in Steve Carlton versus Nolan Ryan. In a back-and-forth affair, the National League scored a run in the eighth inning to tie the game, then scored the winning run in the ninth, to beat the American League 7 to 6. Dave Parker showed off his canon of an arm, gunning down two runners on unforgettable throws from the outfield. Parker also had an RBI and a walk, and was named the games MVP.
