Coached by George Allen and Roman Gabriel, the Arizona Wranglers would play their games at Sun Devil Stadium, on the campus of Arizona St., in Tempe. In the playoffs, the Wranglers upset the powerful, 13-5 Houston Gamblers, in a nail biter, 17-16! Then, they would beat the L.A. Express in the Conference Title, 35-23! The Wranglers came-up short in the Championship Game, 23-3, to the Philadelphia Stars, which would be George Allen's last game ever as a professional head-coach. The Wranglers would merged with the Oklahoma Outlaws in 1985.
