The 1988 Notre Dame Fighting Irish met all challenges during a season that saw them match up against four different Top 10 opponents. After 12 games, ending with a 34-21 win over No. 3 West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl, Notre Dame claimed the National Championship with a perfect 12-0 record. Irish coach Lou Holtz's squad outscored their opponents 32.8 to 13.0 points per game. The offense was guided by a trio of players who rushed for over 600 yards apiece, led by QB Tony Rice (700 yards, 9 TDs). Raghib "Rocket" Ismail was a big play machine, averaging 27.6 yards per reception while averaging 36.1 yards per kickoff return, including two return TDs.

This stunning 1988 Notre Dame Fighting Irish "National Champions" Football Ring was produced by Balfour (Stamped: LGB BGP) and is in great condition for being almost 35-years-old!
