This amazing 1996 Rawlings Gold Glove Award was presented to Robin Ventura. Robin Ventura received an amazing 5 Gold Glove awards as a 3rd baseman, one in 1992,1993, 1996, 1998, 1999. The Gold Glove Award was first presented was presented to Robin Ventura's by the St. Louis-based Rawlings corporation in 1957 to honor the eighteen best fielders at their positions. Rawlings used a combination of defensive statistics along with visual effect to determine the winner and honored the recipient with a large gold glove. Joe Garagiola's National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, *Autographed* Award for Outstanding Achievement in Daytime Programing.

Garagiola played nine seasons in MLB for the Cardinals, Pittsburg Pirates, Chicago Cubs, and the New York Giants. He was later well-known outside baseball for having been one of the regular panelists on The Today Show for many years and for his numerous appearances on game shows as a host and panelist.


Garagiola was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1970. He was presented with a Peabody Award in 1973 for his NBC work. In 1991, he was honored by the Baseball Hall of Fame with the Ford C. Frick Award for outstanding broadcasting accomplishments. He was inducted into the National Sportscasters and sportswriters Assoc. Hall of Fame in 2004. The St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame inducted him in 2008 for his Wrestling at the Chase broadcasts. In 2012, he was honored by the Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Phoenix, receiving its inaugural Legacy Award at its 24th Annual Crosier Gala for his tireless help and generosity with the St. Peter's Mission School on the Gila River Reservation. (The American Sportscasters Assoc. also honored him for his work with the St. Peter's Mission School with its Humanitarian Award in 1995.)

On December 4, 2013, Garagiola was named as the 2014 recipient of the Buck O�Neil Lifetime Achievement Award, presented once every three years by the Baseball Hall of Fame for positive contributions to Major League Baseball. The Hall's official announcement specifically cited his advocacy against smokeless tobacco, as well as his role as a founder of the Baseball Assistance Team, a charity that provides grants to needy members of the professional baseball community.

This striking ....very large illuminated crystal & wood MLB Award was presented by Major League Baseball to Detroit Tigers - Mickey Lolich at a celebration gala in 1979 (framed photo included) for "25-Years of the World Series MVP's"!

The base is a heavy 9" x 13" wood pedestal that is almost 5" tall, and displays a 6" x 4" custom, crystal-etched hologram-like baseball, with the words denoting "World Series MVP 1955-79" making the total dimensions 13" x 18"! A 10.5" x 2.5" polished silver nameplate affixed to the wooden base has the engravings Major League Baseball � Sport Magazine, Honor 25 Years of World Series Heroes, Mickey Lolish, Detroit Tigers � 1969.
A fluorescent lamp is installed inside the wooden base to light up the crystal; a 68-inch cord with on/off switch extends from the back of the base. Included with the lot is a contemporary 8-by-10-inch color photograph of 18 of the 25 award winners at a reception that also featured MLB Commissioner Bowie Kuhn, with all handsomely outfitted in period-appropriate 1970s leisure suits. The photo is enclosed in a brushed gold frame with easel stand. All elements of the trophy appear to be essentially as-issued. Please feel free to text or call Scott with any questions.
