In a thrilling finish, Clemson defeated the Mustangs 34–31 on a 56-yard field goal as time expired. The victory gave Clemson its 22nd ACC Championship, the most in conference history, and its eighth ACC title in a 10-season span. The championship also earned the Tigers a spot in the College Football Playoff.
