This 2018 Menlo-Atherton Bears State Championship ring belonged to Troy Franklin, current wide receiver for the Denver Broncos.

Franklin was a sophomore in high school during Menlo-Atherton’s historic 2018 season. The Bears finished 13–2 and captured the CIF Division 3-AA State Championship, defeating Lincoln of San Diego 21–7 to secure the first state football championship in school history.

Franklin made his mark throughout the championship run. In the NorCal championship victory over Eureka, he accounted for three touchdowns, including a 70-yard game-winning score. In the State Championship game, Franklin caught a 50-yard touchdown pass, helping Menlo-Atherton secure the title.

The face of the ring features the M-A logo surrounded by stones, with “STATE CHAMPS” and “2018.” One side is personalized “FRANKLIN” alongside a football helmet and his position, WR. The opposite side recognizes the NorCal, CCS and PAL championships and displays the Bears’ 13–2 record.

Manufactured by Herff Jones, the ring is stamped HJ ULT for Ultrium. It is a size 10.5, weighs 59.4 grams, and is in near mint condition with very light signs of wear.

Franklin went on to become a standout wide receiver at the University of Oregon, where he developed into one of the top receivers in the program before being selected by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
