Sammie Straughter had 8 receptions for 87 yards with a touchdown in the Sun Bowl. Overall in the season he had 74 receptions for 1,293.00 yards with 5 touchdowns. He was 2nd Team All Pac-10, 3rd Team All-American and a Randy Moss Award Finalist as only a sophomore. He went on to play 4 years in the NFL with The Tampa Bay Bucks.
