This incredible game-worn and photo-matched 2017 USC Trojans home jersey was worn by Sam Darnold during USC's thrilling 28-27 comeback win over the Utah Utes on October 14, 2017 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The jersey shows outstanding use throughout with scuffs, hit marks, tears, and heavy interior fabric balling that all point to extensive on-field wear. Manufactured by Nike, the jersey is tagged size 44 and features the proper "QB" designation tag. It has also been photo matched to game images from the contest, firmly tying it to one of the most exciting victories of USC's 2017 season. After falling behind 21-7, Darnold rallied the Trojans with three second-half touchdown drives and once again showed why he was considered one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He finished the game completing 27 of 50 passes for 358 yards and 3 touchdowns, including touchdown strikes of 52 and 17 yards to Tyler Petite. Darnold also connected with Josh Falo on a 1-yard touchdown pass that tied the game in the fourth quarter before USC eventually took the lead for good. Utah attempted a game-winning two-point conversion with just :42 remaining, but the Trojans held on for the dramatic 28-27 victory. The 2017 season turned out to be one of the finest of Darnold's collegiate career. Entering the year as a Heisman Trophy favorite, he led USC to an 11-3 record, a Pac-12 Championship, and a Cotton Bowl appearance while earning First Team All-Pac-12 honors. He finished the season with 4,143 passing yards and 26 touchdown passes while continuing to build his reputation as one of college football's premier quarterbacks. In just two seasons as USC's starter, Darnold threw for 7,229 career passing yards and 57 touchdowns while completing nearly 65% of his passes. He also helped lead USC to a memorable Rose Bowl victory over Penn State Nittany Lions, where he delivered one of the greatest performances in Rose Bowl history with 5 touchdown passes and 473 yards of total offense. Following the season, Darnold declared for the 2018 NFL Draft and was selected 3rd overall by the New York Jets. This is an outstanding photo-matched USC gamer from one of the biggest names in modern Trojans football and a terrific example from a signature comeback victory during USC's Pac-12 Championship season.
